Monica Pedersen is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in the field of Child Neurology. Monica graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida in 1997. She worked in a very busy pediatric unit at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida. Monica's interests were in educating patients and their families about disease prevention and health maintenance. She also became a lactation consultant. Monica went on to receive a Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Central Florida in 2005. Staying true to her love of pediatrics, she graduated as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, becoming certified one year later. She began working in the field of Child Neurology immediately after graduation, which opened her eyes to the astonishing need for this service in the community. Monica and her family moved to the Northshore area in 2007, and she began working for the Children's Hospital Neurology Department in New Orleans. Seeking to work closer to home and her children, Monica joined Children's International Medical Group in June 2011. And, as looks can be deceiving, most peole find it hard to believe that Monica is fluent in Spanish. She hopes to be able to help out the Spanish speaking community in the area.
