



Dr. Eduardo J. Hernandez is a Board Certified Pediatrician. Dr. Hernandez completed his medical education at Universidad Central del Este in Dominican Republic in 1984 and did his residency in Pediatrics at N.Y. Medical College from 1985 to 1988. He initiated his Pediatric Pulmonary/Critical Care career at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine (NYC) and completed it at Tulane University School of Medicine in 1992. He founded Children's International AMC and initiated his private practice. Dr. Hernandez was the first full time Pediatric sub-specialist on the North Shore area and has been serving as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at North Shore Regional Medical Center since its opening in 1993. Dr. Hernandez has also been the Medical Director of multiple Skill Nursing Facilities, Home Health Agencies, Hyperbaric/Wound care units, and Pediatric Hospitalist programs. His career interests are the care of the physically challenged, the complex pulmonary, and the critically ill child. From a Cuban background, Dr. Hernandez has lived in Miami, Puerto Rico, Baltimore, Dominican Republic, New York City, New Jersey, New Orleans and made Slidell his permanent home when he married Heidi Burch in 1997. A father of four, he enjoys community involvement and participation in children advocacy organizations.
